Youth Job Connect

As part of the Ontario government’s Employment & Training Services Integration (ETSI) initiative, the Youth Job Connection program aims to support youth who face multiple and/or complex barrier to employment. Barriers can include a combination of: challenging life circumstances (e.g. poverty homelessness, racism/discrimination), limited labour market experience, low levels of education or literacy, and lack of motivation.

The goal of the program is to provide young people with the skills and training to secure long term employment and meaningful careers.
Program Highlights

    1. Up to 90 hours of paid pre-employment training covering topics such as:
      • Job Search Skills
      • Resume Writing
      • Interview Preparation
      • Soft Skills (i.e. Communication, Conflict Resolution, Customer Service, Leadership, etc)
      • Confidence Building and Teamwork
      • and Much More…
    1. Job Matching Placements and Incentives
      • Participants will be matched with employers to gain hands-on, paid work experience in their individual areas of interest and career goals
      • Job Placements lasting up to 26 Weeks
      • Additional financial supports and incentives may be provided on an individual, case by case basis
  1. Individual counselling and support services
    • Career Mentoring
    • Coordination and referrals to other service providers (e.g. housing, legal, social, education supports)
Eligibility Criteria

  • 15 to 29 years of age at the time of registration*
  • Resident of Ontario
  • Eligible to work in Ontario
  • Unemployed and not participating in FT training or education
  • Facing multiple/complex barriers to employment
