Our Programs
Our Promoting Unity, Leadership and Social Engagement (PULSE) Program funded by Government of Canada through Public Safety Canada, the Building Safer Communities Fund (BSCF) and the Region of Peel is a gang and gun prevention and intervention program designed to equip youth with the necessary tools, guidance, and support to steer clear of such activities, ensuring safety and fostering positive life choices.
PULSE will rely upon the “The Roots of Youth Violence” report; we will work to reduce the primary risk factors that make youth vulnerable to engagement in gun and gang-related activities in the Region of Peel.
PULSE will use a person-centred, strengths-based, and collaborative method for all the youth who join the program. Therefore, we will also utilize the “Wraparound” approach. By establishing a unique plan for each person or family, work collaboratively with the team of professionals in the youth’s life if present, identify the youth’s strengths, and always consider each individual’s cultural background and beliefs.
The program will provide youth with:
- Community Reintegration
- Social and Communication Skills
- Conflict Resolution
- Teamwork
- Education and Training
- Employment Readiness
- Mental Health Support
